A short walk across the bridge, and you're Düsseldorf's old part of town nicknamed the "longest bar in the world", or in the media harbour, with its impressive buildings designed by Frank Gehry and the television tower, whose observation deck gives you a unique view of the entire region. Numerous museums and the famous Aquazoo can be reached, among other possibilities, with the Welcome Card for Dusseldorf, with entitles you to use all the buses and trains in the urban area for 48 hours. Tip: this ticket is included in the hostel's "Dusseldorf-Weekend" package. School classes can design their own class trip from various elements. How about, for example, a tour of the airport or a visit to a large company? In the evenings, meet up in Düsseldorf on the Rhine - where else? A short walk to the other side of the Rhine and you can go on a comfortable sightseeing tour of the area by boat. History buffs should not miss the historical imperial palace in Kaiserswerth: the oldest documented part of Düsseldorf boasts medieval buildings and a pretty square. Water sports enthusiasts will find plenty to do on Lake Unterbach. Situated just a few kilometres south of Düsseldorf, they can go wakeboarding, swimming or water-skiing here. And if you've not had enough of the big city, then Cologne, Essen, Duisburg, Oberhausen and Bochum are less than an hour's drive away.
